Stop Putting Your Goals on Hold

I’ll bet any money that you’ve seen the movie Dumb & Dumber, amiright? If not, It’s the story of Lloyd (Jim Carrey), traveling across the country chasing after Mary, who is WAY out of his league. He finally catches up with her, and says, “what are the chances of a guy like you (Mary) and a girl like me (Lloyd) ending up together?” to which Mary replies, “uh not great Lloyd”, and he says something like, “shoot straight Mary, what are the chances, like one in a hundred?” Mary says, kindly but firmly, “no… more like one in a million”; at which point Lloyd looks down, dejected. But then… he looks up with a massive smile and he says…

(Say it with me loud and proud)… “So you’re telling me there’s a chance!!!!!”

What is Lloyd doing that so many of us do too (don’t say stalking, 🤣)? Maybe he’s hearing what he wants to hear, but more than that, I see him being unrelentingly optimistic - chasing after his dreams and not taking no for an answer (but in a cute, rather than creepy way).
